The point of the ending was "everything you did is pointless". I know it feels super underwhelming. But honestly I liked it for not having a traditional strictly "good" ending. But I know a lot of people want a resolution and stuff. The ending reminds me of Monty Python and the Holy Grail's ending in a weird way. #6.

Same goes for Pratt in Far Cry 5, and I've seen people in here in the past not like Pratt because "he's whiny and a little bitch". Honestly Pratt is pretty much close to how most of us would act. Pratt was just a cop, dealing with speeders or handing out tickets.

Like every other Far Cry endings need I remind you Far Cry 3 killing off the most interesting character half way through and replacing them with a no body. The ending doesn't have to be happy for it to be good. Look at Red Dead Redemption, that ending was fantastic but by no means was it a happy ending. This game just hits you with "you lose, everyone's dead" out of nowhere and finishes with the greasy man-bun giving you another monologue and then it's over.

The worst part is there different endings and every one is awful. 1: ignore the problem. 2: ignore the problem and kill all your friends. 3: actually deal with the problem and lose in a cut scene. Same with Far Cry 2. There is no “good” ending. I mean that in terms of outcome, not quality.
In Far Cry 3/4 you at least had an impact on what happened. Even if in 4 you didn't leave the country in the best shape you at least made a change. I really liked playing 5 because it felt like being a place I know so you fight a little harder because you're able to relate and can picture this being an area near you (if you're North American).
